Discover and Delight in How the 3 Step Reciprocity Cycle Comes to Life Each Week!

Earth Archetypes

Lists, Atlanta & Executive Orders

“Whichever way it goes, my work is the same. My work is to quiet my mind and open my heart and relieve suffering wherever I find it.” - Ram Dass

Let’s face it… It’s been an intense couple days with external movement that will affect a lot of lives. This week’s blog explores the 3 Step Reciprocity cycle honoring MLK’s legacy, Ram Dass’s philosophy, and also Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde’s ask to President Trump, “Have Mercy.”

Acknowledge Earth Is Our Home

Scrolling through LinkedIn, I saw this post from a fellow climate storyteller...

"Made a 2025 survival book list: mental health, climate, spirituality, poetry, navigating apocalypse, creativity, courage, justice, philosophy & more"

You can be sure I checked out both the fiction and nonfiction lists she shared.

And as I was pursuing the titles, a thought came to mind...

What could be a 2025 survival nature relationship list?

What categories might be included?

Hikes, gardening, energy efficiency, ceremony, town halls, voting, events, conversations...

To quote the LI post again...

"What would you add? Would love suggestions. ✨"

Also curious what is on Leonard Peltier’s list now that he is home

Discover Your Earth Archetype

As we all know, pivoting is important. We assess, probably reassess, and take the next best step we can see. In such times, we can use key elements as guide posts. My hope is that your Earth Archetype is one of those elements.

For me, as fires rage and executive orders descend, my Metaphor type continues to help me stay in relationship with nature.

And this week, it aligns with some location scouting and relationship building for the potential of filming season 1 of "How on Earth?" in Atlanta.

As I prepare to start sending outreach emails, I knew I had to acknowledge the elephant in the room -- while also continuing to explore how to offer support with my storytelling skills. Here is the email that is now going out to people working in climate in Atlanta...

(If you know anyone in Atlanta who could be a good fit, I'd appreciate you sharing it with them.)

Hello,

This is Amber Peoples, Producer for the unscripted tv series How on Earth?. Modeled off of the hugely popular Queer Eye, each episode will have 5 hosts who help an individual tackle a climate question that has them stuck.  With all the great work you do, I bet you have some questions, solutions, and stories to share!

Well, I’d like to help you do that.  We are in the process of choosing which of 5 metropolitan cities to film season 1 – and Atlanta is high on the list.  A key part of our final decision will be in forming good relationships with the city’s climate community (from NGOs to brands to city officials) that the show can highlight and support.

Part of what stands out about the Atlanta climate community is its focus on environmental justice. And I wish Monday's time to honor MLK's work towards justice would have NOT included numerous executive orders that hinder our ability to address climate change nor EOs that repeal important DEI work. But it did, and it convinces me even more that these stories must be told and seen in mainstream media.

The How on Earth? website gives more details of how that could look: https://eartharchetypes.com/how-on-earth  Because I am coming to visit Atlanta soon, I’d value a phone or zoom chat to share more about the project and learn more about your work – plus explore if an IRL visit feels good.

May we schedule a brief conversation in the coming week or so?  Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.

In Community,

Amber Peoples

P.S.  The 5 hosts are modeled after a framework I’ve created called Earth Archetypes.   What's Your Earth Archetype?  I’d love to hear about your results.

Work Together in Community

Ayana Elizabeth Johnson is a scientist and communicator that I respect a lot. She's the amazing human that has a venn diagram to help people take climate action. And states that the "Who am I?" question is often the hardest of the 3 for people to answer. arine

And here is how she describes herself on her "What If We Get It Right?" LinkedIn blog (named after her recent book):

"Marine biologist, policy nerd, writer, Brooklyn native. Co-founder of Urban Ocean Lab"

Moreover, on Tuesday, she wrote the most concise and accessible summary of Trump's environmental executive orders.

Aptly titled, "Trump’s Day 1 Attacks on the Environment 🤬

And what you can do."

You can read the details HERE.

And be sure to check out the call to action at the end.

TLDR: It fits in really well with "Work Together in Community."

As she sums up...

"Get in where you fit in, y’all. Getting it right requires you to be actively engaged in pushing for climate solutions.

Okay, deep breath. Take care of each other."
