"Each day of my life I am sowing seeds that one day I will harvest." - Gautama Buddha

When I was an event producer, I would simultaneously juggle anywhere from 2-6 shows at different stages of production (development, pre, event, post, etc). As I develop Earth Archetypes, I'm in a constant state of seeding, tending, and harvesting. Learning, connecting, and creating. Today's blog post also contains all three.

Acknowledge Earth Is Our Home

Celtic Calendar

While a bunch of folks are super excited about the lunar eclipse this week, my sights are set on the upcoming Autumn Equinox.

(FYI. If you are one of the excited folks, help me understand what I'm missing.)

My overall meditation this year was to honor the Celtic calendar which is based on the 8 high holy days -- which includes the Autumn Equinox.

For those of us with lives and traditions in the Northern Hemisphere, we are shifting into the the late harvest season. The plethora of berries at the farmers market changes into apples and pears. Tomatoes into squash.

The energy around and in us also shifts. Based on the Celts, we move from "Harvesting" to "Breathing Out."

I'm ready for this long exhale. How about you?

Discover Your Earth Archetype

The concept behind the Earth Archetypes is to help you nurture your relationship with planet, self, and others based on the skills and traits you come to the table with.

The traits part might be more innate, and the skills part more purposefully developed.

When it comes to my Metaphor type, I've got both -- and continue to develop more and more each moment I can.

This past week included field trips to develop my ability to host my reality tv show "How on Earth?" as a staged, live podcast.

Live Wire

With my sights on a venue I know pretty well, I decided to grab tickets for both a taping episode of Live Wire...

And a night of staged science geekdom brought together via Science on Tap, The Story Collider, and The Association of Science Communicators.

After all, research can always inspire ideas to consider and pitfalls to avoid.

What's also great are the bonuses that can arise.

During Live Wire, Emily Nussbaum, author of Cue the Sun, was a guest! See, the book is all about the history and creative impulses behind reality tv…

So I got all kinds of great behind the scenes peaks into what I’m building both right now and into the future!

The Story Collider

Then during the science monologue night, I got to bounce ideas with host of podcast "This Week in Science," Dr. Kiki Sanford after the show.

Besides remembering our brief moment working together in 2019, we laughed at all the clowning around we get to do. We also brainstormed ways to make the audio pop when the tv visuals are not part of the story.

2 nights of priceless research and development that will definitely be marked as such on my taxes!

Work Together in Community

This step in the Reciprocity Cycle can be tough for many reasons.

One is a phrase spoken in hushed tones by people feeling it...

And blared from marketing materials for coaches who claim to help you beat it.

This humble author has even embraced it as part of my growth process from time to time.

So what is it?

"Imposter Syndrome."

But I was today year's old when I learned the systemic origins of the word.

And the community action we can take to eradicate it.

Thank you Reshma Saujani and Smith College for this insight.

P.S. Stay tuned for next week's follow up lesson on what's going on in the body during this feeling (kinda like the "symptoms" of the dreaded "bicycle face."
