"This is such a unique idea."
For at least a year now, people keep saying this every time I pitch How on Earth?.
It's the best compliment. It's also the moment I hold my breath.
Let's move through it together to build language for real conversations.
Starting with "Notice"...
What happens when you read this quote?
Maybe you recognize that exact moment. When something genuinely surprises and delights you and…. Yet you don't quite know where to put it.
Or maybe you've said this yourself about something and felt both drawn in and slightly untethered at the same time.
Whatever's showing up, just notice it's there.
CONNECT
Novel things get attention. They don't automatically get commitment. Because when something doesn't fit an existing category, your brain can't find the file for it. You have to expand to take it in.
Here's what Metaphor sees: the bridge from "unique" to "yes" isn't more explanation. It's an image. A story. Something you can inhabit before you decide.
That's exactly what a movie trailer is for.
TRY
This week, try this:
Watch the Portland episode trailer for How on Earth? LIVE. 👇👇👇
Is there a moment where you expand to find yourself in the novelty?
That's the moment “unique” becomes possible.
Let the trailer land where it lands.
& REPEAT
Watch for this pattern elsewhere.
Notice when urgency skips the listening. When moving fast becomes a way of not having to find out if what you're doing is actually working.
Each time you catch it, slow down enough to observe one thing. The more beautiful world gets built in those observations.
