Weekly Walk through the Earth Archetypes Journey

A Moment: when 1.5 degrees crosses your feed

September 10, 20262 min read

A Line I Heard

"My scroll just included that we hit that 1.5 mark. What now?"

Journey Framing:

This week the UN said it officially for the first time.

And the question landing in a lot of feeds right now is: what now?

How on earth do we give this a makeover? Let's move through it together.

Starting with "Notice"...

NOTICE

What happens when you read this quote?

Maybe the number also crossed your feed by now. What did you do/say/feel? How quickly did you move on?

Or maybe you felt the pause. The moment you stopped scrolling. That pause is information.

Whatever's showing up, just notice it's there.

CONNECT

Here's what's true: 1.5 degrees is cause for alarm. It is not cause to give up.

This week the UN said officially for the first time: crossing 1.5 is unavoidable. And the same report also said that the amount and duration above that crossing is still within our control. Every fraction of a degree matters. Every action shortens the time we spend above it.

Here's what Embodiment sees: the weight you feel is appropriate. Ayana calls it "the work of our lifetime." Not the end of it. The work.

TRY

This week, try this:

Let the number land. Don't scroll past the feeling.

Then ask: what am I actually drawn toward? Not what should I do. What am I drawn toward?

That question usually has an answer. Start there.

REST

As someone wrote on Reddit this week:

"It is a colossal defeat. Weep. What to do now after a decent pause for mourning?"

You're allowed the pause. The mourning.

& REPEAT

Watch for this pattern elsewhere.

Notice when a number or a headline lands and you scroll past before letting it register.

Each time you catch it — stop. Let it land. Ask what you're drawn toward.

That's how the work of our lifetime actually gets done.

p.s. Greta and Ayana both responded to the 1.5 degrees news. Worth hearing both.
