A Moment: when you leap to find out what sticks

A Line I Heard

"How on Earth will this work?"

Journey Framing:

One year ago, the Earth Archetypes stepped on stage for the first time at Five Angels Theater in NYC.

So many questions were in the air, but we were in it together

Let's review the roller coaster magic of that journey.

Start with "Notice"...

NOTICE

What happens when you wonder: “How on Earth will this work?”

Do you recognize the feeling? The fear, doubt, exhilaration, exhaustion, curiosity as you took the leap into the important unknown.

Maybe you're feeling it right now. As you consider how to approach a climate conversation, a relationship, a thing you're almost ready to try.

Whatever's showing up, just notice it's there.

CONNECT

Here's what that first night actually was: a live test of something that had never been on a stage before. Five archetypes in bodies. A protagonist’s questions. An director and emcee’s pure force of will and 25+ years of experience.

Nobody knew if it would hold up.

Here's what Molecule knows: "How on Earth will this work?" leads toward a hypothesis to test. The only way to find out is to run the experiment.

An audience member that night said: "I came just on a whim... I wasn't expecting to learn so much practical information. But then also, sort of, emotional information."

What great data!

TRY

This week, try this:

Sit with your “How on Earth will this work?” question.

Listen to it. What is it asking of you? Imagine what leap could answer it.

REST

You don't have to know the answer before you ask the question out loud.

The answer for How on Earth? LIVE! showed up one performance at a time. It still does.

& REPEAT

Watch for this pattern elsewhere.

Notice when "How on Earth will this work?" stops you instead of starts you.

Each time you catch it, walk through it and find out.

Stay in Relationship

This blog is part of an ongoing practice. If you’d like, you can receive one Earth Archetype Moment each week by email. Drawn from real conversations, real uncertainty, and real care. Each one moves gently through notice, connect, try, and R&R. You’re welcome to join the free newsletter here:

P.S. Some of these moments also unfold in public, and I record them on video. You can find those on Instagram and YouTube.
